About

About the course

Course content

In consultation with the Lifelong Learning Research Centre and the appointed supervisor, the students can select a topic free of choice and have this as an optional course in their master's degree programme. The reading of the course will normally be selected in such a way that it thematically supports the work on the master's thesis. The Research Centre (ViLL) appoints a supervisor, and both the topic as well as the reading list must be approved by ViLL, by the recommendation of the supervisor.

Learning outcome

Introduce the student to an in-depth study and give the student practice in developing a topic for discussion and to work out a limited analysis of this.

Learning methods and activities

Academic supervision in selecting a reading list and approach to the problem. Approved topic and semester paper. The paper must be an independent discussion of a specific problem within the theme of the course. The paper should be around 10-15 pages long. Approved topic within 17. September (fall) and 5. February (spring).

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Voksnes læring (MVL)

Required previous knowledge

Course materials

The student chooses a topic and sets a reading list of 500-600 pages. The reading list must be sufficiently broad and thorough in scope. The reading list has to be approved before the semester paper is submitted.
