Course content

Practical educational training is an integral part of the three-year vocational teacher education. The vocational training together with the vocational and professional subjects shall provide the basis for training on 8-13 grade. Practical training includes professional practice in business / enterprise and pedagogical practice (school practice) at youth level and in upper secondary education.

Guided practice is included as a central part of the course. The purpose of the course is to further develop the student's prerequisites in order to be able to provide professionally relevant and adapted education and to see the teaching role in a social and development perspective. The learning outcome requires active participation, systematic guidance, planning, implementation and assessment of own practice. In addition, the course emphasizes the use of own experiences from practice in the further development of competence in the professional and professional subjects, as well as professional ethical judgment. Work requirements from integrated courses and exercises are included in the practical training.

Learning methods and activities

Duration of practice: The total number of practice days is 40 days, divided into 20 days in company / business and 20 days in school practice within 8th-13th grade. A minimum of 10 days of school practice must be completed during the 6th semester in connection with the bachelor's thesis.

All practices are mandatory and must be supervised. The final assessment in the course is a comprehensive assessment of professional practice and teaching practice related to learning outcomes, which includes associated reports and practice follow-up.
