About the course
Course content
The course provides an introduction to general principles of human/mammalian physiology, organ physiology and regulatory mechanisms.
This framework is used to develop aspects of comparative neurobiology, endocrinology, metabolism, temperature regulation, circulation, osmoregulation and digestion.
Learning outcome
On completion of the course the students shouldhave good knowledge of general principles within human/mammalian physiology, organ physiology and regulatory mechanisms.
The students should also be well familiar with comparative physiology of selected animal groups and their adaptive mechanisms for survival in a changing environment.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures: 60 hours
Project: mandatory
Laboratory course: 30 hours, mandatory
field course (1 day) mandatory
Seminar with oral presentation: mandatory.
Examination: 4 hours
