About

About the course

Course content

The course is an introduction to the fabric of tissues of vertebrates. Seen in association with the basic courses in cell biology, physiology and functional anatomy the course will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the structures and functions of tissues.

Tissues and organs will be studied using light microscopy slides. Students will make their own slides and follow the process from dissection to ready slide. The course provides a foundation for subsequent studies in histology, and familiarises the students with basic light microscopy techniques.
