About the course
Course content
The course runs every second year, next time 2010-2011. The course provides an introduction to how biochemical pollution effects biological organisms. A particular emphasis is placed on the mechanisms of action of classes of pollutants. Subjects covered include: acid rain, heavy metals, oil pollution, organic pollutants, pesticides and radioactive pollution.
Learning outcome
On completion of the course the students should be familiar with how different classes of biochemical pollution effects biological organisms.
