Deadlines

NTNU application deadlines vary depending on the programme.

Exchange students

  • Autumn semester: 1 May
  • Spring semester: 1 October

International master's programmes: International students

  • Application deadline: 1 December
  • Exemption: Application deadline to the Master of Fine Arts (KIT) is 1 February

International master's programmes: Nordic citizens and/or Nordic degree

  • Norwegian/Nordic applicants with secondary education from non-Nordic countries: 1 March
  • Applicants with secondary education from Norway/the Nordic countries: 15 April
  • Exemptions may apply, for example if you require a visa to study in Norway

Joint Nordic Master's Degrees

  • Application deadline for both international and Nordic students: 15 January

Degree programmes taught in Norwegian

  • Applicants with secondary education from non-Nordic countries: 1 March
  • Applicants with secondary education from the Nordic countries: 15 April
  • Exemptions to these deadlines may apply to some study programmes

PhD programmes

  • All year: The deadlines vary depending upon the individual vacancies

Application forms

Application forms will be made available on the webpages listed below close to the application date. This is normally one to three months before the deadline.

Exchange students

  •  Use the exchange student form if you are coming to NTNU as an exchange student,  free mover, to do project work, an internship or write your master's thesis

International master's programmes

Study programmes taught in Norwegian

  • Applicants to undergraduate and master's studies taught in Norwegian should apply through Søknadsweb
