Master's theses written in Physiology may investigate both plant and zoo physiology.

Plant physiology primarily provides topics within higher pants’ physiology, both biochemical physiological directions and within growth and development physiology. The topics may involve basic physiological phenomena as well as problems from applied subjects within agriculture or environment protection. In zoo physiology, the main focus is on animals’ functional adaptation to their external environment (ecophysiology). You may also write your thesis within zoo physiology with external supervisors, e.g. from other departments at NTNU.

Admission requirements for Physiology (zoo or plant physiology) are one of the following two alternatives:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology; subject combination Physiology with the following compulsory courses:
    After the first three years of your Bachelor’s degree programme, you must choose BO2021 and BO2022/ZO2020. In addition, your main profile must include at least 82.5 ECTS credits of Biology.
  • Students with a Bachelor’s Degree from other institutions with relevant subject combinations will be evaluated individually.
