Information for Norwegian M.phil students who are going for field work

The department of Geography has been in contact with the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), concerning support for fieldwork in the summer holiday.

If you are studying special conditions who only occur in sudden times of the year you might apply for a summer scholarship. This could for example be floodings, different natural phenomena's etc.

If you are having fieldwork outside of the Nordic countries you might apply for travel support, to pay for tickets. Your stay must then be longer than 4 weeks.

You will find the information in forskriftene for lånekassa del 2 Kapittel 5 Delstudier i land utenfor Norden. Internet link: § 5-1 Delstudier i land utenfor Norden  http://www.lanekassen.no/Toppmeny/Forskrifter/Tildeling-av-stotte-2011-2012/Forste-del-Hovedregler-for-tildeling-av-utdanningsstotte/#16139

It is Lånekassen who handles your application for support, but the department might write you a confirmation, who says you are going on fieldwork.
