Master of Philosophy in Risk Psychology, Environment and Safety
- Study environment
As a student on the MPhil programme you will have access to modern working facilities and work closely with research groups. You will study in an international and friendly environment which is important for learning, personal development and intercultural understanding. You will also be given the opportunity to study with students attending the MSc in Industrial Ecology if you decide to take that branch of the programme.
Students from all parts of the world are welcome to this programme. The goal is to create an international academic study environment with an optimal mixture of national and international students.
The language of instructlon is English and the students of RIPENSA are expected to attend the Advanced seminar series at the Department of Psychology. The students work and progress will be closely monitored by supervisors. It is emphasized that each student selects a master thesis supervisor already in the first semester so that the planning, work and supervision of the master thesis result in a competetive specialization and a completed thesis within 2 years of study. The choices of a specialization area for the master thesis, and the concrete themes for the semester papers, are expected to fall within the provided broad academic context and competency of the RIPENSA team.

Since it is a combination of many areas in psychology I believe this education will be very useful. I will have knowledge about communication, risk perception, group processes, and individual behaviour to mention a few.
