Infotekst om studiet

If you master embedded computing systems you can master our modern world challenges

Do you have a bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related program? Then the European Masters programme in Embedded Computing Systems (EMECS) can be the right place for you to enhance your knowledge in technologies that are enablers for solutions required for our common sustainable future. Embedded computing systems are essential parts of medical equipment, smart cities and infrastructure, harvesters of renewable energy, and efficient resource management, to name a few. You can learn how to contribute in these and other domains of the digital future.

EMECS is a two-years Erasmus Mundus Master's course where each of the two academic years is spent at a different EMECS partner university. The master programme is an opportunity for Bachelors wanting to enhance their professional background in order to be employable in a broad range of ICT companies.

The curriculum consists of a core program, an elective program and a Master’s Thesis. The core program covers the fundamentals of embedded computing systems and offers an equivalent education in all four institutions. The elective program reflects the specific profiles of the participating partner universities and their associated research institutes.

You may specialize in topics like:

  • Automation & control
  • Communication and Signal Processing
  • Embedded Systems
  • Microelectronics/Microsystems

The students may choose between four different universities:

  • The University of Kaiserslautern–Landau (RPTU) - Germany
  • University of Southampton (UoS) - Great Britain
  • Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) - Italy
  • Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) - Norway
