Internship
Students on the MSc in Globalization will have the opportunity to work abroad (outside Norway) in the third semester of the programme. International students may undertake their internship in Norway.
The programme provides a range of internship opportunities, within private corporations, NGOs, campaigning groups and multilateral organizations.
This Master's programme is designed to provide its students with the requisite knowledge and transferable skills to pursue careers in the private corporate or governmental sectors, with international non-governmental organisations or with campaigning groups. By the end of your gained relevant work experience which would give you an important foothold into the global job market.
The internship should:
Develop and build the personal, academic and professional capacities of the students by allowing them to research and manage an individual work project within a global company or or multilateral organization or international campaigning group.
Contribute an interdisciplinary perspective Be relevant to the needs and requirements of the company/institution.
The internship should lead to the production of a written report (30-40 pages), which relates to the taught element of the programme and which fulfils the academic requirements of a Master's level programme. The internship will be undertaken under the supervision of an academic supervisor at NTNU and an internship manager.
You will be able to apply academic knowledge to a "real work" setting and gain practical experience of the day to day workings of a global corporation or institution. This internship will give you the opportunity to develop and build your academic and professional capacities in relation to practical applications of knowledge gained through the programme's taught course.
In the first semester, you will be given information about the selection of internships. You will compile a summary of your project interests and CV to be sent to the companies/institutions. In the second semester, you will receive information about the specific internship project possibilities and will finalise arrangements with the relevant company/institution. You will be matched with an NTNU supervisor and a internship supervisor, both of whom will follow your progress.
The experience of working within a highly regarded global organization or corporation will be an important asset to your CV. But in addition to this, the experience of living abroad, handling new situations and adapting quickly to a demanding and exciting work environment, will bring you invaluable benefits.
