This specialization provides students with an understanding of the analytical, organizational and policy elements important for implementing Industrial Ecology in industry, government, NGO’s and in society at large. There is an emphasis on analysis and communication skills, but also on “getting things done.” Important aspects are public policy for implementing Industrial Ecology, the use of environmental knowledge as a basis for policy and corporate management, the interaction between communities, public and private actors, and policy incentives for technological change and innovation. The students are prepared for positions in environmental management, policy making and administration in the public sector as well as in larger companies and consultancies.
