Master's Degree Programme, 2 years

Medical Signal Processing and Imaging

- Specialisation

Medical imaging is a multidisciplinary field that deals with theory and technology for imaging of the human body.

This specialisation focuses on:

  • the physics and mathematics of image formation
  • the different technologies for imaging
  • estimation of physical quantities from the image data

The students will be trained in physics, signal/image processing, and estimation. The thesis work will typically be integrated in ongoing research projects, often in cooperation with clinicians, or medical students.

Admission
Admissions and course organisation are decided by the Department of Engineering Cybernetics, IME Faculty.

Prospective students should have a Bachelor Degree in Control Engineering, Signal Processing, Image Processing, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar. The Bachelor Degree totalling 180 credits should include 35 credits mathematics and statistics. Fundamental knowledge of control theory and signal processing is a prerequisite for this specialisation.
