NTNU's Master of Science in Engineering ("Sivilingeniør") in Project Management degree programme trains engineering professionals to excel as future project leaders in a variety of industries.
MSc in Project Management is an International programme that aims to develop an understanding of project management with a broad perspective of both International and Norwegian management standards and procedures.
There has been no lack of job offers for our graduates, and most of them are now working within industry as trainees, in project teams, or in staff positions related to the development of systems for project selection, evaluation and/or management. Others are working as consultants, and some have continued into PhD programmes.
The number of students in the degree programme is small, and this encourages more discussion and dialogue between faculty and students. Also, the programme organizes excursions, visits to companies, and guest lectures in the field of project management, in which the students are encouraged to participate.
The students in Project Management have their own reading rooms. They also organize social gatherings. The students at NTNU are very active and have several student societies to cover all sorts of events. Trondheim, and its location, is also great for students who like sports and outdoor activities.
The MSc in Project Management is a 2-year programme of study. Students choose among three engineering tracks; Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Production & Quality Engineering. In the first year, the students have six compulsory courses that count for a total of 45 ECTS, and two engineering courses (15 ECTS).
In the third semester, the students have one elective engineering course (7.5 ECTS), an engineering specialization project (15 ECTS), and one mandatory specialization track course (7.5 ECTS). The fourth semester is devoted in its entirety to writing the individual master's thesis (30 ECTS).
The MSc in Project Management requires applicants to have at least a Bachelor of Engineering degree, preferably in civil, mechanical or industrial engineering with a grade point average of at least C.
A strong fluency in English is also required as all lectures will be held in English and all course materials will be provided in English.
There is no application fee. There is a tuition charge for students from outside the EU/ EEA.
