Sustainable Architecture (Master's Programme 2 years)

Study environment

As a student on the MSc programme you have access to excellent working conditions with a modern library, labs, workshops, and study rooms.

The programme's close link to internationally renowned research projects, such as the interdisciplinary Research Centre on Zero Emission Neighborhoods or Green Deal ARV, ensures close contact with State-of-the-Art research and practice in Norway and abroad. The students will be in contact with these research centers and projects through project work and master theses during their education: The programme's teaching staff works, closely with stakeholders, such as contractors, consultants, architects; trade organisations; public administration, producers of materials and products for the building industry, public and private construction and property management; users. The aim is to provide a close connection to practice such that graduates will gain experience with the implications of directing the architecture, engineering and construction domain towards a sustainable future.

Among the international partners of the institute are VTT (Finland), Chalmers (Sweden), Fraunhofer (Germany), TNO (The Netherlands), LBL and MIT (USA), University of Strathclyde (Scotland).

Students can apply to be part of a double-degree program with Tsinghua University (China), where they would spend one year in Tsinghua and get a double degree. Students may spend one of the four semesters as exchange student at another university provided that the courses taken are equivalent to the program at NTNU.
