PhD programme in Science Education
The PhD-program is inter-departmental and provides research training in science education based on education in physics, chemistry, biology or related subjects such as technology or geosciences. The research project may focus on experimental, empirical or theoretical aspects of the subjects in an educational perspective.
The research is conducted under the supervision of staff members. The project may be connected to research conducted at the faculty as a whole, or carried out in co-operation with other research institutions. The student will have affiliation to the department where his or her background fit the most.
Research areas
The programme provides opportunities to specialise in various approaches to research in science education, such as classroom research, studies in history of science or curriculum development studies.
Research in science education may depart from one or several fields of science and technology. At our faculty research is in particular related to physics and chemistry.
