– Unified campus and new infrastructure

Unified campus in Trondheim

In the period 2016 - 2025 NTNUs Trondheim campus wil be unified in the area near Gløshaugen.

This will result in several projects which will be defined during 2017, after a masterplan for the Trondheim campus has been developed. The masterplan will be derived from three main activities:

  • Surveying functional and academic needs for the university enviroment and developing models for different area types
  • Developing a physical plan with a coherent concept for structure, volumes and possibilities for connecting the different campus hubs and meeting places
  • Localizing the academic disciplines within the unified campus

New Technology Building

A new building for Technology Education is being built at Kalvskinnet in Trondheim. The project has become a part of NTNUs campus development after the merger of NTNU and Sør-Trøndelag University College.

In desember 2016 departments of chemistry and material technology, informatics and food technology will be moving in. 

The building will be in use from the start of the spring semester 2017


New building for Teachers Education

At Kalvskinnet in Trondheim there is ongoing rebuilding and building of new areas for Teachers Education. 

The building will be in use from the start of the spring semester 2018.

Nytt bygg for lærerutdanning


New building for Health Care Education

At Øya in Trondheim, closely integrated in the University hospital St. Olavs hospital, a new building for the Health Care Educations currently situated at Tunga is being planned.

The building is expected to be ready for use in 2020 or 2021.

New building at Campus Gjøvik

A new building at Campus Gjøvik is currently being planned.

The building will consist mainly of educational areas and offices for academic and administrative staff.

The build is planned to be ready for use within the autumn semester 2017.

Norwegian Maritime Competence Center II in Ålesund

A new building for the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center is being planned at Campus Ålesund.

The building will be in use from the start of the autumn semester 2017.
