About

Academic interests: Subject didactics in English and foreign languages. Writing as a jey competence in language subjects in school. Student teachers' writing practices. Classroom research and school development. Use of digital media in school / professional digital competence.

Background: 30 years of experience as a lower secondary teacher in second- and foreign languages, and social studies. Participation in several school development projects, including nationally initiated projects. Active role in developing digital storytelling as an innovative pedagogic approach for engaged student learning in schools in Norway. Also active in international school collaboration, especially throygh the European eTwinning platform; an initiative for school collaboration in Europe through the use of ICT. Employed at NTNU since 2012, primarily teaching subject didactics in English, but also several other professional and leadership activities related tat PLU/ILU.

Functions 2020/21

  • 5-year integrated MA programme for secondary teachers, grades 8-13:
    • Study quality leader for the professional courses
    • Course convenor and teacher in PPU4650 (English subject didacics, part 1) and PPU4651 (English subject didactics, part 2)
  • 2-year MA programme in education (MDID):
    • Academic coordinator for the specialization in English- and foreign language education
    • Supervision of MA-students and course convenor for the MA-project course
    • Guest teacher in DID3304: Computer-Assisted Language Learning
    • Teacher in DID3002: Academic literacies
  • Teacher specialist in English (1-7); SKOLE6265: Teacher leadership and peer mentoring in the English subject discipline
  • Teacher in two PhD courses on qualitative research methods and analysis (PLU8021 and PLU8022)
