Research

I am one of six PhDs in an interdisciplinary project called "Sweet Spot": Combining skills to identify the "Sweet Spot" to solve marine plastic pollution in Norway. The project is focusesd on action-oriented research at the national and regional level, and aims at finding preventive, curative and innovative strategies to reduce plastic pollution in Norwegian waters.

The aims of my research are to (1) fill knowledge gaps on chemical composition and degradation of selected marine litter categories, and (2) perform solution-oriented research, by proposing management strategies based on scientific data and involvement of stakeholders and experts. This interdisciplinary approach will combine methods from the disciplines of environmental/analytical chemistry and environmental management.
