Background and activities

I hold a Master’s degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune. The focus of my thesis was Deep Learning based Linear Model Predictive Control. The goal was to approximate optimal control law given by the linear MPC and use it as an offline controller on a resource constrained (memory and computational aspects) micro-controller and micro-processor. After completing my masters, for a very brief time, I was working as post graduate trainee engineer at Aker Solutions, Pune.

 

Since October 2019, I am persuing PhD under the supervision of Prof. Sigurd Skogestad and Prof. Sebastien Gros at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

My research interests include optimal control, model predictive control, reinforcement learning. I consider problems from Process Contorl and try to optimize the process throughput by counteracting uncertainities in the plant, handling disturbances and operating at economic pace. I have worked with the mathematical modeling of linear and nonlinear systems, implementing control strategies on embedded devices, performing HIL for verification process and testing the controller stability and performance. My publications are available on Google Scholar or ResearchGate. In my free time, I listen to music or watch movies.
