Background and activities

I am a PhD reseach fellow at the Department of Material Science and Engineering. My PhD is part of the PreMa project which focuses on the energy efficient primary production of manganese ferroalloys through preheating and prereduction of furnace feed materials. The main goal of my PhD is to assess how pretreated raw materials will affect product quality, energy consumption and CO2 emissions for the submerged arc furnace (SAF) process, based on lab-scale and pilot scale experiments.
