FabLab have a range of equipment and machines recommeded by the FabFoundation. It includes the basic habilities of a FabLab, such as 3D Printing, CNC Milling, Circuit Production, Laser Cutting/Engraving, Precision Milling and Vinyl Plotter. Additional, one can use the other machines available at other NTNU in Ålesund lab in the FabLab++.



Equipments follow 3 basic rules, they are indicated all over the lab

 Green - open access to everyone

 Yellow - requires training

 Red - staff only 


The 6 key rules are:

  1. SAFETY – check the machine instructions and do not perform any activity that may harm you, your colleague or the machine. remember: human safety machine safety operational safety
  2. CLEAN YOUR MESS – use the space at your will, but trow your garbage and waste in the bin
  3. PUT BACK WHERE YOU TOOK IT – tools and material get lost easier
  4. ASK – better safe than sorry
  5. SHARE – Fablab ntnu is a space to share ideas, equipment and knowledge
  6. VOLUNTEER AND HELP – the fablab community grows based on community. offer your time to create and help at fablab ntnu.
