HUNT researchers participate in many national and international projects, see below for examples.

MindMap

MindMap

– Promoting mental well-being and healthy ageing in cities

A European project with a focus on better mental health for those who live in cities, and especially the elderly.

Most people today live in cities. Evidence shows that living in cities correlates with more mental health problems than living in rural areas. Ever more elderly live in cities. The combination of a higher percentage of elderly living in cities and larger risk of health problems can create challenges for the future. How will city life and mental health interact in the future? What can be done for city dwellers to remain in good mental health? What can contribute to healthy aging? These questions guide the MindMap project.
MindMap is an international consortium project with many cohorts.

SYNCHROS

SYNCHROS

SYNCHROS is a EU-financed project uniting researchers from many countries across Europe. The goal of the project is to find better solutions for research that aims at combining health data from cohorts from several countries. Many studies across Europe and across the world have gathered information on population health and causes of illness through a plethora of research projects. Combining the data from several sources enhances the possibilities for research and insight in causes of health and illness. But this kind of research encounters many difficulties, like for example:

  • Different countries have different environments, life styles and cultural habits that can influence population health
  • Questions regarding life style and health are posed in different manners
  • Legal frameworks and ethical guidelines for sharing data may differ between countries.

It is the goal of the SYNCHROS project to work towards solutions for such challenges by collaboration across country borders and better health research possibilities in the future.
