By Train
There are four daily trains between Oslo and Trondheim on the Dovre line. The journey takes approximately 7 hours.
Trondheim can also be easily reached by train from many other Norwegian cities.

By Car
The Norwegian north-south highway E6 passes Trondheim, while the coastal highway E39 has its terminus at Klett, 10 km south of Trondheim. the E14 connects Trondheim to the Mid-region of Sweden to the east.

For those participants who need a visa to visit Norway, please note that you are responsible for your own visa applications. Getting Around in Trondheim
Walking
Trondheim city is not very large. Walking is an excellent way of getting around. Depending on which hotel you stay at, walking to the IAHR-ICE venue at NTNU will take about 20-30 minutes.
City Bike
Trondheim has many City Bike stations. All you need is the app, and you can rent a bike for NOK 49,- per day.

Bus
The Local bus company is named "AtB". Look for green(ish) buses.
The bus lines servicing the NTNU Campus area are lines 3, 22 and 25. Bus stops are marked in our Google map. Be sure to get off at the bus stop: "Høgskoleringen". See Campus map for further directions to the venue 'Elektrobygget'.
Some bus stops have ticket machines, but not all. The best way to pay for your ticket is by the app: "AtB Mobillett". There is an extra fee for on-board payment.
