Division of Language and Communication
Language research encompass many different subjects ranging from language system to language usage, as well as the development of language in society to language development in human beings. Research topics include: Theoretical syntax, Phonetics, Semantics/pragmatics, Language documentation, Dialectology, Second language acquisition, Language contact, Language mixing, Linguistic identity, Experimental methods in language research and Language problems and language impairments.
Communication research at the department has a cross-disciplinary, problem based approach to the study of oral and written communicative practices. The researchers focus on cross-disciplinary communication and team communication, text quality and text production as well as expert/layman communication in a range of different settings in public administration and business.
