Division of Literature and Cultural History
Research on literature deals with a whole range of topics from various eras, from early modern times up to the present day. The staff teaching Literature specialize in Nordistics, Germanistics, French, English (British and American) and Spanish Literature as well as Literature theory. Research interests include book history and 18th century studies.
Research in Cultural History is grounded in the disciplines of History and the Social Sciences. The research focuses on European nation states and their global influence, but there is also a commitment to comparative and transnational perspectives. Recent projects have included: Studies of Conservative political culture in interwar Britain, European fascism and Norwegian Aid in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
