Trondheim is the third largest town in Norway with 193 000 inhabitants. Founded by the Viking King Olav Tryggvason in 997, Trondheim holds a special place in Norwegian history and culture. Transport

Situated in central Norway, Trondheim is easily accessible whatever your choice of transportation. By plane you will land at Trondheim's modern airport at Værnes (32 km from the city). If you come by train you can relax and look at the unique Norwegian countryside.

If you are coming from the south of Norway you can drive through the majestic Dovre Mountains. Another special way to visit Trondheim is by the coastal express which will give you a chance to experience Norway's special and beautiful coast.

From airport to city center:

By bus

Two airport bus companies are present at the airport. They both go to the city center. The ticket price is NOK 130 (return: NOK 220).Credit cards are accepted.

Nettbus

 

 

Airport-bus Nettbus (blue/white) runs every 10 minutes.

 

 

Vaerness-Express 

 

Værnes Expressen (grey) runs every 20 minutes from the airport.

 

By train
Værnes station is in the immediate vicinity of the terminal. Local trains traffic the station approx. once hourly. The train arrives in Trondheim at "Trondheim Sentralstasjon". Travel time to Trondheim is approx. 45 minutes. Price per adult: NOK 90.
