LingPhil Summer School 2014, June 1st-6th

Dates: June 1st-6th

Venue: Hamn i Senja, Senja, Norway

The 2014 Summer school offered classes on the following four topics: 1) History of linguistic ideas 2) Corpus linguistics 3) The syntax-semantics of N and P: Insights from Scandinavian and 4) Phonology in 1st and 2nd language acquisition, as well as a number of interactive activities:

  • Elevator pitches on the first day where PhD fellows are expected to present their projects within a limited period of time (3 minutes).
  • Project workshops where students will work in groups and present their projects in a workshop paper format and receive detailed feedback from the lecturers and other teachers attending the school.
  • The program also includes a 2 hour session on paper writing and publishing offered by Professor Peter Sells, York University.
