Welcome

You are Warmly Welcome
to the 27th Nordic Rheology Conference
NRC 2018, Trondheim, Norway

The old wharves by Nidelven

The conference will be organized by The Nordic Rheology Society (NRS), The Norwegian University of Science and Technology and SINTEF.

Are you a rheologist? Do you study or work with the rheological properties of materials or products? Or are you working with functional materials and wondering how their rheological properties are important and can be optimized? Join us in Trondheim at NRC2018 to present, to discuss, to network and to advance rheology in the Nordic countries and beyond.

The theme for this year's conference is “Rheology for a better world”, and we want to highlight the often overlooked importance of rheology in a wide range of contexts and applications. This includes understanding of the behavior of natural systems and the design and optimization of processes and products.

Themes that will be covered include (but are not limited to) medicine and health, energy and the environment.

Confirmed speakers include Professor Randy Ewoldt, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign who will hold a plenary lecture entitled “Engineering yield – stress fluids for a better world”.

Of course, focusing on the applications of rheology does not detract from the vital importance of the theoretical and basic research that provides the foundation for developing these applications, and these aspects, and their vital contribution, will be fully included in the conference.

We welcome submissions on all aspects of rheology, from theoretical to applied, from academia and industry, and including those from scientists working with functional materials who want to increase their understanding of rheology in relation to those materials.

Abstract submission is now open

Pre-conference Rheology Course and Reception

Prior to the conference, on Wednesday June 13th, a rheology course will be given.
A reception and a concert in the Nidaros Cathedral will be arranged on Wednesday evening. (For Conference attendees arriving on Wednesday)

We look forward to seeing you in Trondheim!
