The Regional Centre for Child and Youth Mental Health and Child Welfare (RKBU, Central Norway) is a research and development center. We have focus on challenges linked to mental health, children and young people.

The Centre generate positive synergies in relation to the end-users, municipalities, specialised services and second line services in the child welfare services.

Knowledge for the benefit of children and youth

Through our interdisciplinary and practice-relevant research, we contribute to increasing the quality of mental health care and services for children and young people in central Norway.

​​​​​The Centre's competency are spread through teaching, development and dissemination.

RKBU Central Norway is a part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Department of Mental Health at NTNU. The Centre is located in the Øya area in Trondheim and has about 65 employees.
