Muscular workload, energy consumption and training adaptations during whole body, lower body and upper body work – implications for training and performance
The main objective of the project is to examine individual muscle oxygen consumption and the contribution to total external work during physical activity by using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). Work done by the different muscle groups is investigated using kinematic measurements and inverse dynamics analysis. Additionally, the long-term physiological adaptations among athletes in different sports have been examined together with the research group CERG at NTNU.
