About the programme
Living images surround us on a daily basis, and are used as sources of information, interaction and entertainment.
Living images, such as film, television and video have affected our culture. The rapid development within video technology, digital photographs and the Internet have contributed to expand audiovisual communication.
The significant role which audiovisual media holds in society has led to an increasing demand for understanding the distinctive character and importance of living images. Therefore, the bachelor's programme in Film Studies and Media Production aims to provide knowledge on the aesthetics and socio-cultural significance of living images.
The bachelor's programme in Film Studies and Media Production consists of two specializations:
- Film Studies
- Media Production
Why choose to study the bachelor's programme in Film Studies and Media Production?
The research community of Film Studies at NTNU is prominent within Norwegian film research, especially Norwegian film history, early/classical film, documentary, American contemporary film, as well as commercials.
Media Production is a pratical-theoretical course of study. Its primary emphasis is on filmic devices and practical media communication.
