Film Studies - Bachelor's Programme
Living images surround us on a daily basis, and are used as sources of information, interaction and entertainment.
Living images, such as film, television and video have affected our culture. The rapid development within video technology, digital photographs and the Internet have contributed to expand audiovisual communication.
The significant role which audiovisual media holds in society has led to an increasing demand for understanding the distinctive character and importance of living images. Therefore, the Bachelor's programme in Film Studies aims to provide knowledge on the aesthetics and socio-cultural significance of living images.
The research community of Film Studies at NTNU is prominent within Norwegian film research, especially Norwegian film history, early/classical film, documentary, American contemporary film, as well as commercials.The language of instruction in this programme is Norwegian
You have to meet the Norwegian language requirements, or have a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue, if you want to apply to any of NTNU’s degree programmes taught in Norwegian.
You must also meet the basic requirement for admission, and demonstrate that you meet the English language requirements.
The application deadline for the programme is April 15th. Students apply through Samordna Opptak.
The Faculty of Humanities offer a wide range of courses taught in English in various fields of study, both at bachelor's and master's level.
