Course content

This course allows students to specialize in an area of Anglophone history, society, and culture as chosen by the course coordinator.

A more detailed description of the academic content will be made available in the reading list at the beginning of the semester.

Learning outcome

Candidates who have passed this course
- have knowledge of a specialized topic in an area of Anglophone history, society, and culture.
- are able to demonstrate discipline-specific understanding of a specialized subject in an area of Anglophone history, society, and culture.
- have gained an insight into the specialised academic reading on a specific topic in an area of Anglophone history, society, and culture.
- are able to debate and analyse a selection of relevant primary sources or texts on a specific topic in an area of Anglophone history, society, and culture.
- can produce well-structured academic written work with a high level of argumentation in English.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and/or seminars and/or individual supervision. Students are required to use the course learning platform regularly.
Approved obligatory assignment is valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester).

Compulsory assignments

  • Skriftlig innlevering (ca. 3000 ord/6-8 sider)

Further on evaluation

The course is assessed by a written home examination (approx. 3000 words/6-8 pages, 7 days).
