Course content
The course teaches processes and process systems that contribute to material transport by rapid and slow mass wasting on slopes, and hence a long-term landscape development. The course focuses on cold climates, and on the interplay between the different processes operating on slopes in such invironments and the framework conditions set by the cold climate, such as permafrost and seasonal frost. Examples on system response on climate change will be given. The course will have a specific focus on the contested age and origin of the Norwegian mountain landscape.
Learning outcome

Skills: The candidate will be able to critically review scientific articles within the selected topics, and to pinpoint their relevance, strengths and weaknesses.
General competence: The candidate can apply advanced knowledge on slope systems in communication with specialists and the general public, and is competent to work in public and private sectors and in science.
