Course content

The subject focuses on the psychosocial work of different practices, theories and ethical dilemmas.

Central teaching themes are:

- different forms of preventive psychosocial work.

- measures that can promote protection factors and inhibit risk factors.

- other forms of user involvement and user management

- various forms of crisis and crisis management.

- communication in different contexts.

- activities in psychosocial work.

- theory of professional perspectives and working methods.

- ethical issues

Learning outcome

Knowledge:

Students who have completed the course have:

- knowledge of preventive and health-promoting psychosocial work

- knowledge of the mapping of psychosocial risk factors and protection factors in the local community

- knowledge of measures that enhance opportunities and ability to participate and master in their own lives.

- Knowledge of needs - and user-managed measures.

- knowledge of crises, mediation and conflict management

- Knowledge of strengthening and empowering private networks, upbringing communities and communities.

- knowledge of conversation and work with risky children and adolescents.

- knowledge of the use of activities in psychosocial work with children and adolescents.

- knowledge of working methods and action options seen from different academic perspectives with children and adolescents with mental problems.

- knowledge of the different theories' theories and working methods to promote the psychosocial health of children and adolescents.

Skills:

Students who have completed the course can:

- map psychosocial risk factors and protection factors in the local community

- contribute to the implementation of measures that enhance opportunities and skills for participation and coping in their own lives.

General competence:

Students who have completed the course have:

- knowledge and skills to map, identify and strengthen resources in homes, nursery, schools and local communities that enhance the ability of children and adolescents to master psychosocial living conditions and know different strategies and practices that reduce such psychosocial stresses

- competence in establishing and engaging in health promotion and struggling relationships with children, youth and their families based on their wishes and needs

- competence to identify and assist children, adolescents and young adults in need of psychiatric care and treatment

- competence in own areas of responsibility and ability to use the special contribution of own subjects in psychosocial work with children, adolescents and young adults

Deferred exam is terminated for candidates with a valid absence or the result "failed".

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) within a relevant subject area.
