Course content

In semester IIC the teaching includes the following topics: orthopedics, psychiatry, dermatology/venereology, plastic surgery, pathology, pharmacology, emergency medicine, rheumatology, infectious diseases, radiology/imaging and clinical decision-making. The teaching is organised in thematic weeks. Lectures, clinics, seminars and courses are given on Mondays, partly Tuesdays and Fridays, while clinical teaching and PBL (problem based learning) are given the rest of the week throughout the semester. In addition to the respective clinical departments, other departments and institutes are also integrated in the teaching. The students (except foreign students) will also, during autumn in the 4th year, chose their theme for their main thesis, get a supervisor and deliver a protocol before November 15th. Learning methods and activities

Problem-based learning (PBL), skills-lab, lectures, courses, seminars, clinical rotation in the hospital.
PBL and clinical rotation is mandatory. Maximum 15% absence from this teaching is allowed.

If the students don't pass IIC in the autumn semester, they are allowed to continue in IID in the following spring semester. Resit exam will go on in august. The students who do not pass the exam will have to resit only the part of the exam they did not pass, i.e. either the oral or the written exam (or both).

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Medisinstudiet (CMED)

Required previous knowledge

Admisson to CMED and successfully completed 3 year of medical school (MD4030).
