About

About the course

Course content

The course emphasizes practical insight in work-physiological, ergonomic and occupational hygiene topics in non-industrial environments. Site visits to selected companies are integrated in the course, as well as laboratory demonstrations that present measuring equipment and illustrate cause-effect associations in exposure-effect relationship for occupational health problems. Two group-based term projects, one practical and one theoretical, are carried out during the course. Teaching form: Lectures, laboratory demonstrations and term projects.

Learning outcome

The course aims to provide an insight in chemical, physical and ergonomic exposures of significance for workers' health in non-industrial work environments. Psychosocial exposure is considered as a source of work stress and thereby a risk factor for musculoskeletal health problems. The student shall learn how an overall assessment and risk evaluation of these factors are performed.

Learning methods and activities
