About the course
Course content
The course gives practical insight in work physiology,ergonomic and occupational hygiene topics in industrial environments. The students will through cases and theory learn the methods for identification and characterization/measure physical-chemical factors. In groups of four, the students shal make a scientific report based on a real workplace.Training in use of instruments etc will be given in the laboratory.
Learning outcome
The course aims to provide an insight in work physiological, ergonomic, chemical and physical factors in industrial work environments with relatively high exposures. The students shall learn to assess exposures and evaluate health risks on the basis of internationally recognized methods.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, laboratory training and term reports. Portfolio assessment is the basis for the grade in the course. The portfolio includes an oral examination (60%) and term papers (40%). The results for the parts are given in %-scores, while the entire portfolio is assigned a letter grade.

Industriell økonomi og teknologiledelse (MTIØT)
Recommended previous knowledge
The course is compulsory for SHE branch students. Other students may attend by agreement with the Institute of Industrial Economics and Technology Management. Reserved students at MIHMS and MTIØT.
