Course content
Historical aspects, monopolies, deregulation. Present and future situation, global competition, regulation, actors. Technology and market: "technology push" vs. "market pull". Technology developments: trends, introduction of new technology, technology as a differentiator. Organization structure and culture: Requirement for dynamics, organization development. ICT - economics: problems and strategies. ICT and environmental problems.
Learning outcome
This topic shall give knowledge on problems and solutions on the border areas between information and communications technology (ICT), organization, market and society, with a focus on current challenges.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and exercises. One compulsory assignment. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
