Information for Norwegian MPhil students going for fieldwork

The Department of Geography has been in contact with the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), concerning support for fieldwork. You will be able to apply for financial support for your fieldwork through Lånekassen if the fieldwork takes place within the ordinary study year - between 15th August to 14th June (10 months). Fieldwork abroad needs to be more than 4 weeks.

If you are studying special conditions who only occur in sudden times of the year outside of the normal study year you might apply for a summer scholarship. This could for example be flooding`s, different natural phenomena's etc.

Lånekassen handle your application for support, but the department will be able to write you a confirmation letter regarding your fieldwork.
