The Academic Coordinator at City is Laurie Boswell. He is Professor of Civil Engineering, former Head of Dept. at City U. and a specialist in Offshore Structures & Technology. He has engaged in theoretical, experimental and numerical research and published extensively in international journals. His work was funded by the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (UK), European Union and the UK Government Dept. of Energy. He was Director of City's Maritime Operation & Management program. He holds several Visiting Professorships in overseas universities and has two honorary doctorates. He is a former member of the ABS and is a member of several international committees such as the Advisory Committee to Petronas (Malaysia) and the Society of Underwater Technology (UK).
