Study at two Nordic universities

Master in Environmental Engineering is a collaboration between four of the five leading technical universities in the Nordic countries (Nordic Five Tech). You get to spend at least one semester (30 ECTS) at two of the partner universities. You graduate with a double master’s degree from the two universities.

The coordinator of the Nordic Master in Environmental Engineering  is Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Find more information about the master's programme on DTU's webpage.

The Nordic Master's programme in Environmental Engineering focuses on:

  • sustainable management of impacts on the environment caused by human activities
  • development of new technologies to address environmental challenges.

It addresses some of the most pressing current political issues such as climate change, sustainable generation of energy, management and renewal of aging urban infrastructure, provision of safe drinking water and contaminated land and waste management. Environmental Engineering is an interdisciplinary science, bridging all the sciences and placing them in a social, economic and legal context. Within the discipline, there are areas of specialization, or small subject areas.

You can choose between the following study tracks:

  • Residual resources engineering and industrial ecology (DTU and NTNU)
  • Urban water (NTNU and Chalmers)
  • Water resources management (Aalto and DTU)
  • Risk assessment and environmental systems (DTU and Chalmers)
