Knowledge

The candidate shall:

  • Have in depth knowledge within one of the technology areas drilling, production or reservoir engineering.
  • Have knowledge about methods for exploration, development and production of oil and gas fields


Skills

The candidate shall:

  • Master petroleum engineering tools for analysis and computation, and have ability to evaluate their usefulness and limitations.
  • Be able to contribute to planning for field development and operation, and to impact studies of petroleum fields.
  • Be able to make plans for drilling of onshore and offshore wells, for recovery of oil and gas from different types of reservoirs, or design and operation of production and injection wells, including processing on the seafloor and with use of permanent installations.


General competence

The candidate shall:

  • Be able to apply knowledge and skills within petroleum engineering in a social economic, environmentally friendly and safe perspective throughout field life.
  • Have an international perspective on their area of ​​expertise to the breadth of research that is taking place in the field of petroleum engineering today
  • Have experience from group work and presentation
  • Be able to use modern digital tools, like Python, etc

  • Be able to use geophysical and geological knowledge to interpret and map data for identification of potential prospects.
  • Be able to contribute to development of geo-based technology for exploration and improved recovery of petroleum resources.

The candidate shall:

  • Be able to apply knowledge and skills within Petroleum Geosciences in a social economic, environmentally friendly and safe perspective throughout field life.
