The Department of Marine Technology (IMT) is among the world leaders in marine technology education, and the master’s program has been running strong for 100 years. The department offers a broad range of courses and specialization areas. The Norwegian marine technology community is internationally known, and our research and development activities are at the forefront of technological advancement.As a student here, you will be in direct contact with highly respected scientists who are active teachers and researchers.

IMT houses one of NTNU’s four Centers of Excellence (CoE): AMOS (Centre for Autonomous Marine Operations and Systems). Prior to AMOS, 10 years of long-term research through the CeSOS CoE were carried out here. The department’s researchers are also active in numerous other national and international research projects.
