A Master's degree in Ocean Resources will give you a solid basis for further careers, both nationally and internationally. The multidisciplinary background this programme offers is requested by both the fisheries- and aquaculture industry, other marine companies in the seafood cluster, other marine industries, as well as administrative authorities involved in management of marine environment and resources (In Norway, for example Miljødirektoratet, Fylkesmannen, and Fiskeridirektoratet). The students in MSc Ocean Resources have the option of meeting possible future employers through the “Bridgehead Havbruk”, which organise conferences and other meeting places for students, companies in the marine sector, public actors and supervisors.

If you want profound knowledge after your of master education, a PhD study may be something for you?

If you are interested in pursuing a career in research at an academic institution or in industry, you can continue with PhD studies here at NTNU, at another Norwegian institution or at an institution abroad.

With a MSc degree from MSc Ocean Resources, you can apply for a suitable PhD programme offered by the Faculty of Natural Sciences or the Faculty of Engineering in NTNU. A PhD scholarship is a fully paid position in NTNU and Norway. The PhD programmes educate independent scientists or technologists on an international level in cooperation with both national and international research environments.
