Leadership, Organizational Complexity and Cyber Security (LOCCS)

About

The LOCCS group/network is an initiative from NTNU CCIS to explore and create new knowledge about organizational and leadership challenges related to security issues in cyber and crisis contexts. We invite multiple perspectives in exploring cyber security and AI- technologies as organizational and societal themes. This includes theoretical and practical issues relevant for researchers and leaders who want to engage in broad, deep and critical thinking about organizational and leadership practices, and the complexities of security and crisis contexts. The group connects with researchers, experts and leaders from academic fields, businesses and public sector organizations.

The Initiative

The Initiative

"The Leadership, Organizational Complexity and Cyber Security" (LOCCS) initiative started in 2023 as part of NTNU CCIS. It aims at contributing to a broad and deep understanding of cyber security and cyber activity as a crucial strategic and operational theme for leaders in organizations and in society more broadly. Today, cyber security is not only a matter of technology but of deep change processes influencing all aspects of work organizations, society and state. Security in cyberspace is closely connected to other types of security such as global and local supplies of products and services, national and international security, and management of crises. As the cyber domain has become a target, medium, and space of opportunity for rapid changes in organizations and societies, questions are raised on what this mean for leadership and organizing of businesses, public services, and societal security. The LOCCS initiative's ambition is to create a knowledge base and a competence network that will engage participants in developing and sharing knowledge for a broader and deeper understanding of leadership, organizational complexity, and security in an emerging cyber and crisis society.
