Coordination meeting in Shkoder, Albania
Date: 2–3rd of October 2025
Location: University of Shkodër “Luigj Gurakuqi”, Albania
The F.R.I.D.A.S. consortium met in Shkodër, Albania, for a two-day coordination meeting hosted by our Albanina partner, the University of Shkodër. The event brought together project partners from Norway, Italy, Spain and Albania, to review progress, share experiences, and plan the next steps of the Erasmus+ project Fundamental Rights in Daily Actions of Social Workers.
During the meeting, partners presented preliminary results from WP2 testing activities, discussed the pedagogical use of case studies, and reflected on how social workers can promote a human-rights-based approach in both educational and professional contexts.
The agenda also included a review of project progress after the first year and the introduction of WP3 implementation guidelines, focusing on developing a competence framework and learning modules on human rights within social work education.
The meeting strengthened collaboration and mutual learning across countries — reaffirming the consortium’s shared commitment to integrating fundamental rights into the everyday practice and education of social workers.
Thank you to our Albanian hosts for their hospitality and excellent organisation!
F.R.I.D.A.S. at Festival d'Europa
Date: 9th of May, 2025
Location: Florence, Italy
In celebration of EuropeDay, we are proud to have participated in the Festival d'Europa 2025 in Florence, represented by our Scientific Coordinator, Prof. Andrea Bilotti from Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione - Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
Our project, F.R.I.D.A.S., was selected as one of the best Erasmus+ KA2 practices at the Italian national level, alongside Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna, in recognition of its innovative capacity, tangible impact, and coherence with EU values.
The event, promoted by the Erasmus+ National Agency INDIRE, the Italian Ministry of University and Research, and the European Union, stands as one of the most significant opportunities to showcase how Europe is built every day, also thanks to social work.
This recognition has given the consortium even more motivation to continue promoting “fundamental rights in the daily actions of social workers”, strengthening the link between academic research, professional practice, and European values. It highlights the importance of collaboration across countries and disciplines in addressing contemporary social challenges and ensuring that social work remains a key actor in building a more inclusive and rights-based Europe.
We thank all our partners and collaborators for their commitment and contribution, and we look forward to the next steps in sharing our results and experiences.
Kick-off-meeting in Rome, Italy
Date: 28-29 of October, 2024
Location: Rome, Italy
The F.R.I.D.A.S. partnership convened for the first time at Roma Tre University on October 28-29, 2024, for the kick-off meeting, which marked the official launch of our journey to develop concrete tools that will better equip social work students to protect and advocate for human rights.
The meeting was a unique occasion for partners to connect in person, deepen mutual understanding, and establish a common vision and work plan to materialise F.R.I.D.A.S.’ objectives. Through interactive team-building sessions, we set the stage for cohesive and good working relationships that will drive our next steps forward. The meeting also served as a platform for initiating critical discussions on the project’s thematic areas of intervention: partners began to shape the direction of our human rights-focused interventions and conduct a context-bound needs assessment to ensure that our work is rooted in key perspectives of social work and human rights. Additionally, we co-defined our approach for selecting and developing case studies, ensuring that input from every partner was duly taken into account. Building on the momentum and enthusiasm of the kick-off meeting, we are eager to continue advancing human rights and social justice principles in social work and engaging with relevant stakeholders and professionals.
