Conference Declaration:
Recommendations for the Beyond 2030 Process

As part of SDG Conference 2027, we are developing a conference declaration that will serve as a contribution from the Norwegian higher education sector to discussions on sustainable development beyond Agenda 2030. The declaration will explore how universities, colleges, researchers, students, and their partners can contribute to the societal transformations needed beyond 2030. It will identify both actions that the higher education sector can undertake and policy conditions needed to enable those contributions.

The declaration will be developed through a series of consultations and pre-conference seminars, culminating in an advanced draft ahead of the conference. Conference participants will then have the opportunity to review, challenge, and strengthen the draft through dialogue and deliberation. The final declaration will be endorsed during the closing session and shared with the National Sustainability Committee for Research and Higher Education to support and inform broader Norwegian and international discussions on sustainable development beyond 2030.
