Trondheim Airport Værnes is located approximately 30 kilometres from Trondheim city centre. In addition to frequent domestic services operated by SAS, Norwegian and Widerøe, the airport offers direct international flights to several European destinations. Regular direct services include Copenhagen (SAS), Amsterdam (KLM), Stockholm (SAS) and London Gatwick (Norwegian), as well as seasonal or less frequent services to destinations such as Helsinki, Munich, Krakow and Alicante.

Travel from Trondheim Airport Værnes to Trondheim city centre is easy. Værnes-Ekspressen operates a frequent airport bus service between the airport and Trondheim, with up to four departures per hour. The bus stop is located directly outside the terminal, and the journey to the city centre takes approximately 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online, through the Værnes-Ekspressen app or on board. Prices vary depending on the type of ticket and when it is purchased.

Trondheim can also be reached by train and public bus services. Taxis are available outside the terminal, but fares vary depending on the taxi company, time of travel and type of service.
